The Product and Software engineering department drives, oversees, coordinates, and executes the entire lifecycle of the product development. It’s a huge job, which is why we break it down into objectives and task-oriented initiatives. That involves delegating to a bunch of teams, including the Admin, Scoring, Data Enrichment, AI, Growth, Onboarding, QA, DevOps, and more – all collaborating to build the best anti-fraud tool possible.
The Scoring Team is the heart of SEON: we essentially collect data and provide it to customers so they can block fraud. We’re continuously adding new data sources to improve our complex real-time analysis. It’s a mission that involves core product functions such as backend and frontend development, R&D, design, and database development.
An Engineering Manager in our organization is people first, but comes with a strong Software Engineering background and engineering mindset to support multiple engineering teams and works closely with the VP of Engineering and CTO.
What you'll do:
Build and develop the teams of engineers, provide clear expectations (1:1s, constant feedback)
Lead the team’s recruitment efforts
Collaborate with product teams in planning, dependency management, risk management
Help to implement development process improvements to make the team’s work more efficient
Work directly with Product Managers, Tech Leads to explore and deliver the best value to our customers and provide visibility on the progress of the ongoing projects
Help the team grow with mentoring on both technical and non-technical skills and performance management.
Be an excellent culture addition and advocate for our engineering culture and encourage knowledge sharing
What you bring:
2-4 years of experience in as an Engineering Manager with product management focus
Experience with growing, coaching, mentoring, and providing feedback to the engineers in the team including in difficult situations
Lead with empathy and trust, ability to give constructive criticism
Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Project management experience
Nice to have:
Experience with growing teams in a hyper-growth environment
Hands-on experience in Engineering (coding, maintenance, operations)
Capability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously and make decisions quickly
Ability to pivot and try new approaches when faced with challenges
Proficiency in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics
Experience in developing Software as a Service (fast release cycles that still support an existing user base)
